1. Toughest materials

5 proven: 1) Travertine (local stone) — 15-25 years, 90-180 AZN/m²; 2) Porcelain stoneware — 20-30 years, 60-140; 3) Silicate decorative render — 12-18 years, 30-55; 4) HPL panel — 15-25 years, 80-160; 5) Buzovna sandstone — 20+ years, 45-90.

2. What doesn't fit

Absheron wind kills in 5 years: vinyl siding (splits in 2-4 years); cheap render (plain cement) — cracks in 3 years; plain wood — greys in 5 years; galvanised metal — rusts in 4-6 years. Looks cheap, but 5-year re-do is 2× the cost.

3. Insulation layer

Facade insulation is 4 layers: 1) Wall prep (clean, fill); 2) Insulator (basalt 100 mm or XPS 80 mm); 3) Mesh and adhesive; 4) Facade material. Without these 4, facade is decor, not insulation.

4. Colour and style

For Absheron: white and light tones — reflect sun (interior 4-6 °C cooler in summer); beige-sand — Absheron classic; dark tones — not suited (heat 15-20 °C more, materials degrade faster). Minimalist look trending in 2026.
